The reason behind to root the device is that APK files which is in Android 5.0 Lollipop Keyboard is relies on .so files to replace it. To do that operation, we need to download and install file explorer (i.e.) ES file explorer app. Let we see the steps to install Android 5.0 Keyboard APK on any Android KitKat or Jelly Bean devices which is discussed below.

Steps to install Android Lollipop Keyboard on Kitkat and JellyBean


Step 1: Like I already said the user need to download and install the ES file explorer app to root his/her device. (You you wish to download and install then click download here).


Step 2: After that, the user need to download and install the Android Lollipop 5.0 Keyboard APK. (You can use Android 5.0 Keyboard APK to download and install it).


Step 3: Finally the user needs to browse the /system/lib directory on his/her Android device and rename this libjni_latinimegoogle.so file to libjni_latinimegoogle.so.bak (Android 5.0 Keyboard libjni_latinimegoogle.so) , by using a file explorer app that we already installed. But the user needs to ensure that the file permissions are set to rw-r–r–.


Note: To Ensure that you backup the current .so file, we need to follow the below steps.



  • The user needs to copy the new libjni_latinimegoogle.so file that he/she downloaded earlier to the /system/file directory in his/her Android devices.

  • If the Keyboard did not work means then the user should reboot his/her Android devices.
