Snow Bros Game – Free Download
While we all remember some of those raster 2D games played on SEGA and NES, we still want to play those on our PC. One of such titles is the Snow Bros, the original by Toaplan and Capcom. The arcade beauty is available on PC and can be enjoyed as a break from serious gaming.

The Background and Storyline
Unlike today’s “all graphics and action” games with loads of weapons and mindless killing, Snow Bros features a background story that is simple, yet charming. The story is about peaceful Snow Land which is invaded by King Acchicchi and swiped the beautiful two princesses and put the land to deep freeze. Princes Nick and Tom set out to rescue them and put the bad guys away and they are the Snow Brothers.
Gameplay
The game is in ways very similar to Bubble Bobble – you need to thrash your enemies in each level to proceed to next. Your only weapon of choice is snow, which you can hurl at the enemies till they get plastered out. The points are dependent on the enemies killed and how they are killed – if you have managed to mow down all with a single snow ball, you earn extra. You can also create an avalanche to purge them all and ride it too. Other ways to gain more points is to make a snow ball ricochet of between a set of walls.
The Levels and Enemies
Levels are static with stacks through which you can go up and down. Each stack contains enemies which are either fire spitting gargoyles or knife tossing blue minions. The level design is colorful and reminiscent of the bygone eras of 8-bit and 16-bit games. The blue minions also feature the ability to turn into cyclones. If you take too much to clear a level, a pumpkin head appears to go after which you can shun away to other parts of the screen. After freezing your enemies with snow balls, you can just kick them around till they are shattered. There are total five levels with 10 rounds each. At the end of each level, there is a boss battle finale. The strategy to defeat is similar, first freeze all the small ones that the boss sends after you and roll them back to him.
The Goodies
The game is adorned with colorful levels and exotic enemies, a simple yet addictive gameplay waits. Bonuses can be collected which range from popsiclespies, hot sauces and potions that can give extra powers to take down enemies. Each round ends with a slots game where you can win bonuses as well.
Snow Bros is an excellent time pass and addictive game for casual gamers at any level. It can also be played with two players controlling the characters to add to the fun. The level design is charming and gameplay interesting with boss fights and brings back the joy of simple, yet enjoyable games of 90s.
